Colon Health Grant Funding Ends Come Join the SDPI and SDPI CCCP Staff
Providing Tobacco Prevention to the Summer Youth Program
SPIPA’s Colon Health Grant ended on Friday, June 26, 2015. SPIPA had
the grant for 7 years, which was funded from the CDC. The grant served Friday, July 24
the five SPIPA tribes; Chehalis, Nisqually, Shoalwater Bay, Skokomish and 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Squaxin, and it also included Cowlitz and Quinault tribes. CTCC Gathering Room
The purpose of the grant was to increase awareness of age appropriate Lunch to be Provided
colorectal cancer screenings, strengthen health care systems to provide
timely and comprehensive colorectal screenings and follow up services, Healthy Cooking
offer colorectal cancer screening services by detecting and removing Homemade Pizza
polyps (abnormal growths) before they develop into cancer, and to detect
cancer in its earliest stages so it can be treated within our seven tribal Mixed Berries
communities.
