     Elders travel to Lummi Nation luncheon




     Bellingham-area excursion
     brings tribal members
     together for food, festivities

       Fifteen Chehalis tribal elders boarded the
     bus to attend the Lummi Nation’s Ribbon
     Skirts and Shirts Honoring Our Elders
     Luncheon on July 14.
       The group took a three-hour bus ride
     to Lummi Indian Reservation, which is 30
     minutes away from the U.S.-Canadian border.
     This was the first multiple-day excursion
     for Chehalis elders since the COVID-19
     pandemic.
        Some elders traveled to the luncheon in
