                                                                                                       Fireworks are an exciting
                                                                                                     and fun way to celebrate our
                                                                                                     nation’s freedom, but they can
                                                                                                     be harmful or even deadly if not
                                                                                                     used properly. Fireworks can
                                                                                                     cause burns, contusions and
                                                                                                     lacerations and foreign objects
                                                                                                     can enter the eye. If someone
                                                                                                     you know is hurt or injured, call
                                                                                                     911 immediately.
                                                                                                       Follow these fireworks tips:
                                                                                                       n  Use fireworks outdoors
                                                                                                     only on flat, well-cleared areas.
                                                                                                       n  Always have water or a
                                                                                                     bucket of water on hand.
                                                                                                       n  Never use homemade
                                                                                                     fireworks or illegal explosives.
                                                                                                     They can hurt or kill you!
                                                                                                       n  Kids should never play
                                                                                                     with fireworks, especially
