Jason C. Medina Wayne ‘Cody’ Ortivez
Sept. 18, 1969–Jan. 15, 2024 Nov. 16, 1967–Jan. 13, 2024
Jason C. Medina, 54, a Chehalis tribal member Wayne “Cody” Ortivez, 56, an enrolled
and Thurston County resident passed away on member of the Confederated Tribes of
Jan. 15, 2024, at Saint Peters Hospital surrounded the Chehalis Reservation, passed away
by his family. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, at Providence
Jason was born on Sept. 18, 1969, in Oxnard, Centralia Hospital. Cody was born Nov. 16,

Adabelle Medina, Nayeli Medina Darnell, Amiah Ortivez, and Matthew Ortivez. Rochester; numerous nephews, nieces and
Medina Leslie, Hudson Capo and Hendrix Capo; Surviving relatives include his mother, great nephews and great nieces; and Oreo,
mother Rita of Mesquite, Nevada; and brother Lucille Cush; sisters Marie Bird, Suzanne his beloved cat.
Adam (and Shelley) Medina of Saratoga Springs,
Utah. He will be carried in the hearts of his aunt
Nancy and uncle Ray Romero, uncle Tony, aunt
Joleen Medina, aunt Gloria Jones, uncle Art Medina
and many nieces, nephews and cousins. ALL NATIVE MEN’S

Michael Medina; grandparents Manuel L. and Alice
Secena Medina, Ovid and Madora Coté; and aunts, BASKETBALL

A service for Jason was held on Wednesday, TOURNAMENT
Jan. 24 at Newell-Hoerling’s Mortuary in Centralia.
After the service, Jason had his final ride around
Tomahawk Stadium and was laid to rest at Secena
